Secure Share
Encrypt → Share → Decrypt Secure share is a cloak of invisibility for your photos while they are shared across messaging platforms.
Securely share your private and intimate photos with anyone using Cacti’s Secure Share.
Secure Share lets you encrypt a photo using a passphrase of your choice. Since 256-bit AES is used, be guaranteed of an industry-leading protection of your encrypted files.
The person who receives your encrypted file would open it in Cacti, enter the same passphrase (shared with them outside of Cacti by you) to decrypt the photo. They would be allowed to store the photo in their Cacti vault.
How does Secure Share work?
- Choose a photo
- Tap on the secure share icon (Share icon with a shield)
- Choose a Profile to share the photo with
- Or, choose to use a One Time Passphrase
- Share the encrypted
.cactus
file through any other app of your choice securely.
How to access a received Secure Share file?
- Open the received
.cactus
file in the Cacti app by using the system share sheet. - Choose the Profile of the person who shared the file with you for decryption
- Or, use a One Time Passphrase
- The received photo would now be decrypted and revealed!
- You could add this photo to your Cacti vault
What Secure Share doesn’t prevent?
Secure Share only ensures that your shared photos are encrypted in transit through any app of your choice. But once the receiver decrypts the photo, they are free to do what they want with it.
Make sure you trust the person you send your photos to, as what they do after falls outside of Cacti’s purview.
Secure Share Profile
A Secure Share profile is a convenient way to store encryption-decryption passphrases of the people you regularly use Secure Share with.
